Recent Updates

Pesta Preparation Camp 2
(13th - 15th March 2010):

Time for sunburn again =D

LOOK WHO'S BACK?! @.@

Yup, Mr. Yeap was back!! He's now the band instructor of Sam Tet Brass Band, the 15th Malaysian Secondary School Marching Band Competition 2009 FIRST RUNNER-UP winner!!

Well, in case you don't know about him with 1stKL, he used to be the instructor for 1stKL before he ended up at Sam Tet... Hmm, to be more specific, he left in 2004... I remember it very well because it was the year I just joined... T.T

The last time I saw him was 2006's Pesta preparation camp... I wondered if he still remember me and asked him... =P Surprisingly he said 'yes' and I was delighted to be remembered by my idol, haha! I still remember that he scolded me for not being serious enough in band drill! In fact I was serious but I was just not used to the movement as I just joined the band... =/

Mr. Yeap drew us the band formations!

I wish to talk more about Mr. Yeap rather than the camp in fact... =P Most of us had the thought that: He is bringing the hope back to us... I found that it's very true... His passion influenced us and he always make it very very fun to play band under him... =)

He told us that it is a must to come back to 1stKL... I'm not very sure why he said so, perhaps like all of us, this is the place he got to know God? Anyway, real grateful that he spent some time with 1stKL... You gotta know that instructor like him can simply earn 3 digits for an hour & 4 digits for a song's marching formation!

Anyway, on the Sunday, it was the drum major - Benny's birthday...

This photo is for you to spot Wah Zai, not Benny!! XD

20th of March 2010 (Saturday):

Versus

Woohoo~ It was junior's Fun Sports Camp! I didn't really involve in the camp because of my classes... Anyway, was there to help out for badminton on Saturday...

Most of them don't know how to play at all! I taught one of the boys some basic on badminton and in the end his pair managed to beat one of the strongest pairs, haha!

P.S. It's because he's still very new to it, unable to control the strength well... Most of his shots brought the ball to right in front of the net and scored! XD

Jeremy wasn't satisfied with his own performance! Very very cute, haha!

Before the end of the session, ALL these boys gathered on one side of the court, challenged Mark [man in white] + I! Hahaha...

Last Saturday was also a special day, as there were 7 promotions in senior section! @.@

PROMOTION OF SERGEANTS!!

For long, 1stKL has got no sergeant... It's really glad to see new sergeants coming from 1stKL!

What A Surprise!

Still remember the post about my primary school gang, about a week ago? I was saying that I've lost contact with 2 of my friends from the gang, they were 杰龙 & 毅浩... 毅浩 still ok actually, at least I'd spent some time with him in Tsun Jin before I transferred to MBS, and also met him several times in shopping malls...

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Back to today! Today there's quite a lot of people smiled at me actually, I guess it's something good after the team building? =P

It was after the Malaysian Studies at 10am, there's a guy in yellow shirt smiled at me like some other people did... I couldn't recognise him at all but I returned him with a smile too... He started talking to me in mandarin:

He: 你记得我吗?你也是读安邦出来的对吗?

I:哦,安新华小咯! (It's a school placed in 安邦 also)

He:你是不是叫杨世康?

Immediately I realised he's my primary schoolmate, but still... I couldn't recognise him AT ALL!!

I:对啦!你是谁?我真的认不出你哦!

He:丁杰隆!

The 3 words had made me stunt for a while before I continued... Based on my memory, 丁杰隆 was a dark, thin boy... However, this young man standing in front of me is a rather muscular guy, fair skin + spectacles!

I spent some time talking to him and got his phone number... I looked at him again & again in fact... He seriously changed a lot! Hahaha... Let me share about some of the memories I had with him:

One activity that we had during primary was throwing stones to each other... =.=" Ya, my primary school very 'ganas' one... And of course, one of the rules is not to target people's head la... HOWEVER, accidents do happen! I was the unfortunate guy who got hit by a stone, threw by him!! XD

He was very good at ping pong & badminton, represented school for both of that... Superb in terms of general knowledge... I still remember that very well as I was also one of the regular ones to represent the school to take part in "常识比赛" organised by newspaper publishers... He used to win the first prize while the rest of us won nothing... =.="

P.S.
I managed to beat him ONCE, during a 'cheaplak' competition which test on sports & entertainment news more! XD
Not forgetting, he used to be a Liverpool fan too! Not sure about now... =P Really surprised to meet him in Taylor's, same under UniSA!

The Amazing Run

My uni had a team building day yesterday... It's a Saturday but they've made it compulsory with threat that if we don't attend, we will be losing marks in 2 of our papers this semester... =.="

It's supposed to start at 9am but somehow the activities have started before 9 when we reached... Well, I think we've just missed the intro & some warm up...

Group 8! My group's banner!

Well, just in case you are not able to interpret it with your pea brain, it means: To "INFINITY", United We Stand... =D

We were seperated into 19 groups to have a 'Amazing Race' kind of activity where we'd got to look for clues and complete some tasks involving mental, physical & teamwork... When my group was gathered, we were very quiet while many other groups were starting to sort of get to know each other... I was like: Ok, how am I gonna survive thru the entire day?!

Soon the facilitator of our group came & asked for a group leader among us... I was scratching my left eye and the facilitator, Miss Mala pointed at me and ask: "So are you the the group leader?" I said no, but I wouldn't mind... And Miss Mala said: "So you are the group leader now!"

The lunch we had...

Once the game started, I realised my first thought to the group was very wrong... In fact, my group was one of the highest in spirit to win the race! XD We used to run a lot throughout the race and involvement from everyone was high...

As some of you might already know, my asthma came back on Friday due to the serious cough I had... Therefore, it took me really hard to follow up the pace sometimes, but it's worthy after all...

P.S. It had been 10 years since I had asthma I guess?! It came back, damn...

One of the tasks to be completed, tower building with straws...

Group 8's tower

After the whole event, I realise tower building was the key activity of the day for my group... We were the first group who finished the tower and that made us so much faster to complete the whole race than any other groups... =P

However, our tower eventually was also the first to be tested... Other groups managed to take note and further modify their towers, in order the pass the test... =.=" Therefore, my group end up to be in the second position in overall, after quite a massive number of marks being deducted on the stability of tower...

Reward for being FIRST to complete the race!! =D

SECOND in overall, lost by 1.5marks only >.<

My group & our SEXY tower

After all, this team building day isn't as bad as I'd thought... Managed to make some new friends, learn some new games and also share some thoughts... I was the so called "leader", but everyone took turns to lead throughout the race... ^^

Loving number "8" more and more! XD

P.S.
Yen, my group just lost to your group by a little bit, don't be too proud & stop calling yourself the Taylor's Amazing Run Champion (TARC)
=.="

Uni life is never boring so far, with this group of people... =P Had our first lecture today, marketing principles... The lecturer spoke in the speed of bullet train... =.=" Amazingly, she spent the 2hours to cover about the whole semester + technique to answer + how to look for key words & start teaching...

Long time have not use the brain on studies, and suddenly so many things came it together... Well, perhaps that's uni life? Lecturers mostly will just SHOOT!! XD
