Seeing & Listening to BOTH sides

I would like to share something today... One of the "principles" in my life... *big word huh?*... Let me start with a little story which happened today... =P

My economics lecturer like to ask students to answer her questions in the class, especially during tutorial classes...

My friend who sat beside me and I were both asked 2 questions by her today... My friend managed to answer 2 questions correctly with correct explanations, while I didn't manage to answer any of them...

What do you think if you are an outsider looking at the situation above?

The truth is, my friend was playing phone and not concentrating at all, while I was trying hard to understand what the teacher was explaining... My friend managed to answered the questions correctly because I told him the answers + explanations, while I didn't manage to answer the questions which teacher referred to me... =.="
Haha, this is no offence to my friend ok? I know he is reading my blog also... =P Just that I'll need an example for the title today...

At times, we tend to judge something by looking/listening to "one side"... Just another example... If one day I would tell you this...

"Eh, don't friend with him!! Yesterday I saw him stolen something..." *Assuming 'him' is a friend of you...


OR


"She said that you're stupid!!" *Assuming 'she' is a friend of you...


How would you react after listening to these? Most people I would say, will tend to believe what the person says and keep a distance with the people who were pinpointed... Do you ever wonder: Should I listen to 'him' or 'her' who is pinpointed as well?

Haha, trust me, this post is not to intentionally "shooting" someone, REALLY NOT... =.=" Just that it suddenly came into my mind and I feel like sharing it out today.

It's been my habit to see and listen to things around me at both side... I tend to refer to more than one party when dealing with important matters... Well, simply because I think it's an important part of communication...

Am I really that quiet?

Yesterday was my cousin's baby "Full Month" celebration...

Due to my mum's "compulsory to attend!!" instruction, I'd rejected 2 invitations yesterday:

• Mrs. Teh's dinner (Cast: Jason, Kar Hoe, Simon, Benny...)
• Hew Zhen's "yam cha" plan (Cast: Hew Zhen, Jian Shen, a few other ex-classmates I guess)

Yeah, obviously I'm going to have more fun meeting up my friends... Anyway...

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Let's come back to the first sentence of this post... "Cousin's baby"? Did I type wrongly?

NO!!! It's really cousin punya anak... FYI, I have lots of cousins on my mum's side... ALOT!!! Roughly I think I have... 20 plus cousins!!! Well, I wonder whether there's 30 or not, I just can't remember all of them because there are too many... And another statistic for you, among these 20 plus cousins, only 5 are not married... 1 cousin is younger than me... Yes, only O-N-E, one... =.="

Therefore you can see, most of my cousins are actually fathers and mothers, there's a huge generation gap between my cousins and I... Other than the one who is younger than me 3 years, my other cousins are at least 4 years older than me... My eldest cousin? Around 40+ years old, haha!

Now you know sometimes why I don't really enjoy being with my relatives? BORING... Not that I wanted to be silent while being with my relatives, it's because I don't know what to talk!! Sometimes they will talk about their work, sometimes about their children, their family...

Yeah, I can be very sociable with the people around me, but when comes to relatives, I'm mute... =.= I used to walk around and see what my relatives doing, but I realised I couldn't join in any of them... Sometimes I'll be awkward when my aunties asked my mum: "Why Hong Hong so quiet wan?"

Kk, stop laughing at the "Hong Hong" thingy, that's how my mum's side relatives called me since 18 years ago!! The main point is, I hardly get into the topics that they talked about... Just like yesterday, I did only 4 things at my uncle's house: Greet my relatives, eat, watch TV & play with my phone... Until one point where my phone ran out of battery, I eat again... =.=" Cousin's children are a lot also!! Once they were all combined, my ears would be tortured by their screaming and shouting... Even I turned the TV volume up to 30+, I still barely hear a single word from TV, imagine that... Don't misunderstand, I still love children... =)

I felt left out... I wonder whether there's one day where I can mix around with my cousins and relatives... Until my cousin's children grow up to be teenagers? Or until I grow up to be a man?

Accounts? or not

It was the first class of the day, accounting lecture... Just FYI, my accounting is kinda weak... I used to stare at the lecturer, copy his answers on the board but not understanding anything... For today, everything went on as usual until I spot something interesting...

Mei Zhen's IC!! XD The photo was totally not her, not her!! Anyway, the fact is that it's Cheong Mei Zhen in 12 years old... Soon, CCM joined in the topic and we had a discussion about it... Until one point where the lecturer suddenly point at our direction, we stopped talking... Oops, I guess we were talking too loud... =/

I realised I have no interest in Accounts... suddenly one BIG question came across to my mind:

"Should I drop Accounting?"

So far I'm holding all the subjects for Arts stream: General Paper(GP), Accounting, Economics, Business Studies, Mathematics... GP test is not compulsory in my college, but it's compulsory to attend the classes... As for the remaining 4, we will have to choose at least 3 subjects as the combination... Hence, I do have a choice to drop one of the subjects...

I started asking opinions from the people around, most of them were saying that Accounting is very important, asked me to think twice... Interestingly, I met Zhi Shan who has dropped Accounting few days back... And here's the conversation (it was in mandarin actually):

Me: Eh, you dropped Accounting?
Zhi Shan: Yealo yealo... (Answered with a smiling face)
Me: Aiyo, why you drop it?
*She paused awhile, looking at something at my back, then continued...
Zhi Shan: I originally also didn't choose Accounting de... (She continued with some other points which I hardly remember what were they...)
Me: Oo... I was thinking to drop it also...
*Sue An at the side suddenly joined in the conversation...
Sue An: Eh, just now the Accounting teacher was behind you, you know?!
Me: Oh shit...
I looked back and saw him walking... =.="
Zhi Shan: I think he didn't hear la, you didn't say drop Accounting also...
Me: Hope nothing bad will happen... (worrying)
Zhi Shan: Why you want to drop also?
Me: Erm, actually my mum was an accountant... (wanted to continue but got chipped in)
Zhi Shan: Yealo yealo, my mum is also an accountant!!
Me: Oh? But she asked me don't take Accounting...
Zhi Shan: Yealo yealo, my mum also say like that...


P.S. Accountants encouraging their children not to take Accounting...


During Accounting tutorial, it was the revenge time for the lecturer. He called me out to do one of the exercises on the board... Immediately I grabbed Nathan's answers and went out to do... Eventually many mistakes were pointed out by him, opps...

Received Applied Maths paper today... I did pretty well!! Once again it's proven that I'm a professional last minute student... =D Anyway, it's A Level, I bet I have to study real hard regularly soon... God has proved to me that actually I can do it, just whether I'd want to put in more effort or not... =)

Finally it's my personal time...

Yeah, finally it's the time for me to update, finally it's the time for me to relax...

It's been more than a week I didn't manage to get enough sleep... Communication Award's seminar, college tests, catching up with studies... These eventually caused the pimples to start growing on my chubby face...

Let me go back to the Saturday... Yesterday? No, it's the previous Saturday!! As most of you know, I spend my Saturdays in 1stKLBB (Boys' Brigade) regularly... For last Saturday, the senior section's meeting was cancelled... However, I was back to help out in the junior!! Not sure about the other two (Jason & Kar Hoe), it was my first time helping out in the junior section!!

Managed to capture a few photos before I left early for the Communication Award's presentation... It was the birthday celebration!!

Week of tests!! Argh.. finally decided to skip the Talentime Night which was held on Sunday, simply because Sunday was really the first day I started to study for the tests! Ended up I was concentrating only one subject each day... Though it's the first tests, I could see pressure was all around...


Accounting class:

Introducing, my classmates... (Mun Fhoong, Kian How, Wei Ming, *my hand*)

Mun Fhoong- Staring at the lecturer but the mind was blank...
Kian How- Stress till "sot" already, smiling alone there...
Wei Ming- Thinking deeply how to survive through the entire week...



I did badly in my Pure Maths test, sad... I've set a target for myself to do well in mathematics, as it's the only subject which I'm more familiar with when I entered college... Somehow, I didn't know one of the questions and another question was only completed half way... I bet many people can score better than me then, but I hope not... =P

Anyway, some papers were already returned back...

• Economics: 80%
• Accounting: 60%

So far I'm pleased with the results, as I know that's all I deserve... My accounting is really bad, a lot more for me to catch up!

Let's not talk about it anymore, will try to find it out next week... After dismissal, a few of us close friends went for dinner together. as it's Jian Shen's birthday tomorrow!!
